I
would like to tell you about this land, of what I know about it
and the secrets it has revealed to me.

|
| She
poor gravels of the left bank, |
| poor
because they are old, as old as the terrasses which formed the
ancient river bed when the sea level was higher. The vine roots
dive deeply to find nourishment, but it doesn't seem to bother
them as they profit at night from the heat accumulated by the
rocks during the day. All these aspects give warmth, elegance
and an incomparable depth to th wine |
| She
heavy, thick clay soils of the right bank hillside. |
| They
are spread out from east to west and benifit from the best possible
exposure to the sun. These deep soils protect the vines from dryness.
They are rich nd confer colour and plenitude to the wine, the
calcareous outcrops which pass through them here and there only
accentuate their strenght. |
| She
light and deep soils of the Tarn plain,
|
| bordering
the river where the water is never stagnant, permit the vine roots
to go as deep as they wish. Quickly heated by the sun, the grapes
always ripen very well and the wine they produce is very authentic. |
